Pentyrch Hill RaceThere was another impressive turnout for the 4th race in the Off road championship. The tough 7 mile race took place in the paths of the Garth Mountain. Classified as a BM fell race, 15 members of the P & D army took on the challenge. With some steep climbs and strong headwinds the fearless 15 took on the race clocking fantastic times for the course.

In the men’s championship Richard Jackson-Hookins was first home in 52:45. Next was Andy Jones in 54:45 followed by Marc Durkin in 56:59. Rob Wilson squeezed in under the hour in 59:44 while Glenn Powell finished in 62:08 and Dave Mathews in 65:17. Andy Palmer returning from injury was next with 67:45, Steve Hill in 70:15 and Matt Robertson in 70:27. 9 male finishers in total.

Cath Tailby lead the ladies home in a great time of 61:15. Lisa Cleary (recovering from London 2 days before) finished next in 67:19. Yvonne Williams finished strong in 71:08 followed by Anna Helsing in 77:06 and Michelle Hoey and Ruth Owens in 80:53 and 80:54 respectively.

Congratulations to Rich, Andy and Marc who placed 2nd in the men’s team category. Also Cath who finished 2nd in the Master Women category and Cath, Lisa and Yvonne who won the ladies team category.
